Revenue assurance in an ISP - mechanisms to claw back lost revenue
The fundamental Configuration Management Database (CMDB) requirement for
an Internet Service Provider (ISP) is IP address management. One tool
that provides this is TeemIP which is listed in this guide here. Commercial alternatives exist which includes those available from Infoblox.
These database are used to record the IP addresses allocated to
customers as well as internal network links. Without a workable IP
address that is propagated upstream to peering exchanges a client will
not have connectivity.
