Durban to Joburg in under 3 hours – Simon Fourie record story

This story has almost become a myth – Simon Fourie’s record run from Durban CBD to Johannesburg CBD in under three hours. Despite 30 years and the completion on the N3 highway, this Durban record still stands. Famed motoring journalist, Gavin Foster, managed to get the full story – first published in the March 2016 issue of Superbike Magazine. Unfortunately, photos of that day are non-existent, so we’ve gathered some other fun photos from his life. Herewith the Durban to Joburg story from Gavin Foster.
