This is the blog of Ronald Bartels that wanders on and off the subject of problem management (that is how it started), but it is best described by Ray who says this is Daddy's thoughts! Like the best music is from the Eighties and a wee dram helps in solving most inconveniences.
Network Documentation Best Practices: What’s Important & How To Track It
As a consultant, I have done several network assessments for clients.
One of the biggest items that is almost always missing is documentation.
In my assessment reports, I can’t just say, “You are missing
documentation,” and leave it at that. I have to be more specific. I have
to specifically call out what should have been documented, how it
should be documented, and why it should be documented. These are my
opinions of best practice for documenting your network.
