Taj Mahal - one of the World's most recognised buildings - the Awesome World of Things

The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum located in Agra, India, which was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died during the birth of their 14th child.
The Shah was overthrown by his son and ever since there is a myth that holds that the Shah planned a mausoleum to be built in black marble across the Yamuna river from the current white marble structure.
